Welsh Train Services Face Delays Next Week .

A key group of senior managers at Arriva Trains Wales will start industrial action next week which could lead to train delays throughout Wales.

From next Thursday, driver managers will begin a work to rule in protest at management’s refusal to negotiate in a long running pay dispute. They will also stage a 24-hour strike from noon on Tuesday September 16.

The managers-responsible for all drivers employed by the company-are protesting about the long term erosion of pay differentials. Some of their staff are now being paid more than them.

Rob Jenks, TSSA senior regional organiser, said: "ATW have succeeded in alienating a key group of highly professional managers who would never normally consider industrial action.

"The result of the ballot, however, confirms the strong feelings of our members and should serve as a wake up call to the company. Needless to say, we remain open to resolving this issue before the start of industrial action."
