Maintenance Dispute: Company table position
Principles of Agreement and Work Practice Changes
Guidance Notes
What are the headlines?
Job security Your reps have gained a commitment that there will be a review 4 months after the go-live of Phase 2bc and no one displaced by the re-org will have any redundancy process started before this review. The company have refused to extend this to those displaced in recent re-orgs, eg Phase 2a PIR.
Redundancy process The company have agreed to apply the full provisions of the PTR&R process. Network Rail have produced a “Guidance Notes” document which contains their interpretation of PTR&R which has not been negotiated with your reps. Your reps expect there will be differences of interpretation in some cases and must look at these cases if they come up.
New supervisory position Your reps argued strongly to protect the working supervisors in Overhead Line and Plant & Distribution and a significant change to the proposals was made to protect the people in these roles.
Additional nights and weekends An overall increased rostering commitment of nights and weekends for frontline grades is part of the NR position. Although changes to supervisory terms and conditions are no longer part of these talks, NR have made clear they can increase supervisors night and weekend commitment if the terms and conditions allow it.
Admin and technical grades Despite your reps pushing the issue at every available opportunity, the company refuse to accept the affect that Phase 2bc will have on admin and technical grades. There is no new offer to these grades.
Financial Offer
An initial financial offer has been made verbally to your reps which would apply to those who are assimilated into supervisory grades through the reorg. Network Rail do not want this offer published at this time. Contact your area rep or attend a local meeting to find out.
