Staff Reps Wanted
Who do we need?
We have vacancies for HQ Clerical (Non-stations grades) at both Local and Company council level. There are currently 3 vacancies out for HQ Clerical at both Local and Company Council level which are:
2 x HQ Clerical Company Council post
1 vacancy + Cheryl O’Brien (Cardiff St Mary’s House)
2x HQ Clerical Local Staff Rep posts
2 vacancies
The work at both local and Company levels is of great importance to all our members. Reps at both levels will be expected to canvass members for their opinions and raise any issues either locally or on a company basis to seek resolution with management ensuring members are aware of what is happening as they go along.
It can be a challenging but rewarding role and you will be entitled to paid time off to receive the training necessary for the position. Support is also available from the current Company councillor and from full time staff based in Bristol.
Without Staff representatives in place your voice won’t be heard!
What do I do now?
If you’re interested in standing as a rep then please complete the relevant Nomination form which has been circulated to members. Nominations will be open until Thursday 12 August 2010, if at that time there are more candidates than posts then we will need to run an election to fill the posts.
As the largest groups of HQ Clerical staff are within St Mary’s House and the South Wales Control Centre I encourage representatives from these workplaces and in particular those in finance within St Mary’s House to stand. If you’re not in those areas and still interested then please don’t be put off as we welcome all interest to assist in furthering the aims of our members.
If you have any queries please email me.
