TSSA Branches

All TSSA members are allocated to a branch. Most branches are based on the companies members work for, but there are also general branches and some branches for retired members.

All members of the branch are entitled and encouraged to attend regular branch meetings. Branches should hold meetings at least quarterly - look out for information from your branch secretary on forthcoming meetings.

Branches elect officers to run their activities. This happens once each year at the branch annual general meeting, usually held in November or December.

Branches send delegates to Divisional Councils where they meet people from other branches in the region. Branches also send delegates to TSSA’s Annual Conference, which decides the union’s policies and rules.

Branches also nominate candidates for the Executive Committee, and all members in each Divisional Council area have a vote in any ballots for their Executive Committee member and for the President, Treasurer and General Secretary.

We can offer branches the facility to publish local information and news of current and forthcoming branch activities on this website. Branch guidelines.

Branches are asked to recognise the importance of Trades Councils....
