EC Reserve Motions

On Learning (Item 18) and the Economy (Item 22)

With reference to the undertaking given in the Preliminary Agenda, I am now able to bring to the attention of Branches/SOGs the terms of the motions submitted on behalf of the Executive Committee.

The Standing Orders Committee has stated that any amendments (Branches/SOGs are allowed one amendment only for each EC reserve motion) to the motions must be received at Head Office not later than first post on Thursday 21st April 2011 and not Friday 22nd April 2011 as previously advised as this falls on Good Friday. Branches/SOGs should, where necessary, hold special meetings to consider this matter and also make use of the Post Office first class postal service. Faxed copies will not be accepted.

Amendments must be submitted on the forms supplied which must be signed by both the Correspondence Secretary and the Branch Chair/two SOG Officers. In the absence of the Correspondence Secretary or Branch Chair the forms must be signed by two different Branch Officers/SOG Officers.

Delegates and Secretaries/Officers of Branches/SOGs which have submitted valid amendments to these items will be sent details of all valid amendments as soon as possible after the SOC meeting on Tuesday 26th April 2011. Delegates from these Branches/SOGs must retain these papers for use at SOC on Sunday 15th May 2011 at a time that will be advised under separate cover.

I am asked by the Standing Orders Committee to point out that the instructions issued must be fully complied with in every detail. In the event of non compliance it is likely that amendments will be ruled out of order by the Standing Orders.

Closing date for receipt of amendments: Thursday, 21st April 2011
