Pension Champion
2008 will be a key year for the TSSA in campaigning to preserve your occupational pension scheme. In order to facilitate this we are seeking to recruit, train and support a group of TSSA members to become specialist pension representatives, more commonly known as pension champions. Through this role the Pension Champion will help support members and organise around the pension issue in the workplace.
In other industries pension champions have played a vital role in highlighting the benefits of their occupational pension scheme and ensuring their survival.
TSSA Pension champions will be trained to:
- raise awareness of the benefits of the Railway Pension Scheme (RPS) and other schemes.
- support other TSSA reps in preparing for the challenges of 2008
All training will be accredited through the Open College Network (OCN) providing you with nationally recognised qualifications. Training will consist of a 2 day course run in the London office on the 3 and 4 of March, the course will begin at 10.00am and Manuel Cortes will provide a briefing on the challenges of preserving the RPS scheme.
