CIE Pay claim

7 December 2017

The TSSA has written to the company today submitting a pay claim on behalf of all members in all grades.

After ten years of pay restraint it is only fair and reasonable that staff in CIE receive a decent pay award.

We hope that CIE management recognise the financial pain you have endured the last ten years and respond with a fair and reasonable pay offer.

FYI I included the text of the letter to the company below:

Dear Declan,

After ten years of pay restraint in which our members take home pay has gone down in real terms we are looking for a substantial pay increase on behalf of members. A substantial pay increase is required to reflect the financial detriment our members have suffered over the ten previous years and the very real financial pressures that they are now facing in their household budgets.

Our members are aware that the economic picture has dramatically changed since pay restraint was imposed on them.

We also feel that it is appropriate to improve terms and conditions in areas such as

  • Long service recognition
  • Policies that improve work life balance

Please note this list is not exhaustive and we may wish to add to the pay claim as and if we feel it is appropriate.

We believe that it is crucial that our member’s contribution to the successful operating of CIE and in recognition of the financial pain they have endured over the last ten years is reflected in a pay award that ensures financial security and access to a reasonable work life balance. Our claim is for all members in all grades.

Can you please confirm a timetable for pay talks.

Yours sincerely,
