Iarnrod Eireann Pay Update

We have had two days of talks this week in the workplace relations commission over our pay claim.

 We continue to assert that members deserve a flat percentage pay increase that we believe is only right and proper in recognition of the sacrifices you have made and the contributions you have made to ensure the safe and efficient running train service during the past difficult years. Currently in the transport sector pay increases are around 2.75 - 3%.

 

We are being constantly told passenger numbers and revenue is on the up. It just is not good enough then for the company not to offer a decent pay increase.

 

At the talks the company presented various documents under what the refer to as organisation change including  Organising for Customer Services, Attendance Management Programme, Performance Management System and Road Vehicle Management System.

 

No agreement was reached on any of these documents, indeed it was only and exchange of information.

 

The talks have been adjourned to the 27th September.

 

The ball is in the company’s court to return on the 27th and deliver real and genuine pay offer. Failure to do so will result in our union having to consider all our options on how best to get a fair and just pay rise for members.
