Annual conference
As a union, our members are at the heart of all we do. This is never more visible than our annual delegate conference.
TSSA conference
TSSA's annual conference is the highest governing body of the union. It takes place every year in May or June, and members from our branches attend. The aim of the conference is to establish our main policies and priorities for the upcoming year. Larger branches can send two delegates, and branches can suggest motions and amendments for discussion that set the union's organising and strategic agenda. The conference agenda is carefully planned by the Standing Orders Committee, who are elected by members every year.
The decisions made at the annual conference determine TSSA policies, which are binding on all members and officers. The conference ensures that TSSA is a fully democratic organisation and that every member has a voice in how their union operates.
TSSA annual conference is an opportunity for activists from all over the country to meet, organize, exchange ideas, and network. It is also a chance to launch campaigns for the upcoming year, and it allows our union to set the agenda and influence government policy. The conference features keynote speeches from senior politicians, giving our members a chance to speak truth to power and be inspired.
The conference has several fringe events, including the Socialist Fellowship, which has been a regular feature at the TSSA annual conference since 1908. It is an evening of music, song, poetry, and humour. The Disability Working Group also typically hosts inspiring and informative events at the annual conference.
