Martin Hartley Scotland

Our executive committee is responsible for managing and supervising the affairs of the association, and for determining and directing policy in between annual conferences.

The executive committee meets ten times a year at our head office, Walkden House.
Executive committee members are elected by secret ballot of the members in their divisional council area, normally for a three-year term of office.

Martin represents Scotland on the Executive Committee alongside his day job as a Customer Service Assistant Security at Network Rail in Edinburgh Waverley,

Martin has been an active TSSA representative since 2004. He has worked for Network Rail in Edinburgh Waverley, since 2002. Prior to that he worked at Virgin Trains Cross Country from 1999. As well as his EC role, Martin is currently an Area (Company) council representative for Network Rail operations. He is Branch Chair in North and East Scotland General branch, and Divisional Council Secretary for the Scottish Region. Martin has represented TSSA Scotland members at the STUC, and at several TSSA Annual Delegate Conferences. He has also represented members individually in grievances and disciplinaries within Network Rail.

Martin supports TSSA’s campaign for a publicly owned railway in Scotland and across the rest of the UK. As a member of the Labour Party, he fully supports the Party in their policies in accomplishing this task at government and local level.
