2011 Pay Claim

The pay claim covering all TSSA members with a 1 April review date (Station Staff, Control, Traincrew, Supervisors, and Clerical) was submitted to the Company in March. The claim is comprehensive and covers the following:

- Substantial increase in basic pay and allowances
- Comprehensive analysis of pay systems, grading structures and the operation of recruitment and selection
- Review and substantially improve London allowances
- A reduction in the working week to a maximum of 35 hours in a 5-day week
- Increase the basic annual leave entitlement to thirty days
- A review of equal opportunities and diversities policies with a view to raising standards in line with best practice
- A review of flexible working and family friendly policies, with a view to improving maternity, paternity, adoption and family leave arrangements and making access to flexible working open to all
- Improvements to travel facilities
- Agreement on a sustainable workplace framework agreement
- A review of the use of agencies and agency staff
- Harmonisation of terms and conditions of employment

The Company has advised us that they are still waiting for claims to be submitted from two of the four trade unions recognised for this group of staff, but a date for an initial meeting has now been set for 19 May 2011. A further update will be published following this meeting.
