Alstom Chester Pay Negotiations 2013: Update

Your trade union representatives have met with the company on a number of occasions over the past few months to discuss pay.

 

Following protracted discussions we have still not reached a final position in terms of a settlement. However a final offer has been submitted by management:

· An increase on all basic salaries of 2% from the anniversary date.

· A reduction of the working week to 40 hours with no loss of pay. Management and the trade unions will continue to work towards an eventual introduction of a standard 37 hour week by 2018.

The company are currently considering further points in relation to the reduction of the working week. Following this they will formally communicate the offer in a letter to the unions and we will be in a position to ballot the membership for acceptance.

Sunday working

For those remaining staff still not contracted to work Sundays the management have made an offer of a lump sum buyout:

- Team Leader: £3,000

- Team Member A: £2,550

- Team Member B: £2,400

We intend to run a ballot separate ballot for those affected.

I will update you on any future developments prior to the ballots.
