Maintenance Pay - Bands 5-8 and equivalent - 2013

Network Rail have written to TSSA confirming the application of the second year of pay award 2012-13.

The pay award was RPI + 0.5% giving a figure of 3.5% for January 2013.

The company have also confirmed the percentages they will be applying to those who are subject to perfomance reviews:

Outstanding 4.3%

Exceeded 3.85%

Good/Developing in Role 3.5%

PIR 0%

SPIR 0%

This confirms that Network Rail have this year accepted our demand that all those who receive a good rating receive the headline figure negotiated by your reps.

The company have also agreed as part of the pay talks for Operations staff to raise the upper band limits for role clarity posts by 3.5% and will apply this in advance of the pay rise being implemented for Maintenance staff. They still intend to pay those who go above these limits in the form of a lump sum. 

Your reps still oppose this method of awarding pay and will continue to fight this in future pay negotiations.
