Strike 2 for TfL – We are Bigger, Better, Stronger

20 June 2014

Last Friday’s strike by TSSA, RMT & Unite was supported by more staff than ever. Thank you and well done to everyone who took strike action.

TSSA membership has increased substantially since the first strike, and on Friday many more members joined picket lines. We had well attended picket lines at the following TfL buildings:

· Palestra

· Pier Walk

· Windsor House

· Westferry Circus

· Buckingham Palace Road (all entrances)

· Lost Property Office

· London Transport Museum

· Travel Information Centres

· Townsend House

· Albany House

Our Friday 13th horror theme went down well with members of the public and staff alike. Many commented that our “Freddie Kruger” spoof character reminded them of someone they know!

Underlying the humour, however, there is a serious message: TfL’s plans are truly horrific and must be stopped.

The dispute at TfL is hotting up, and PCS is about to ballot their members at TfL for industrial action. Despite the wishful-thinking predictions by TfL top brass and naysayers, our struggle for fair pay and pensions is gaining support every day – both within TfL and amongst the public.

We will be significantly increasing the pressure on TfL over the next few weeks, and widening the campaign to involve community & political allies. You can help us to do this by:

· Building our union strength - sign up a colleague to TSSA

· Spreading the word – help distribute newsletters at your workplace

· Taking a lead – join your TSSA branch organising team
