A private operator for Crossrail will loose millions for taxpayers

Speaking from the Labour Policy Forum in Milton Keynes, where a new rail policy was being agreed with Ed Miliband, TSSA union leader Manuel Cortes has slammed the deal.

"It is a shame that after both business and tax payers have invested billions in Crossrail, the profits will now go to a private company.
"If Labour wins next year, the GLA, along with Scotland and Wales, will have devolved powers to directly operate all trains and buses in the capital.
"Then all passengers will see the benefits of a public transport system."
