Amey Consulting: Reps Elections

10 June 2015

Notice to members of the outcome of the nomination period in Amey Consulting and call for members to come forward to fill the vacancies

Outcome

Thank you to everyone who participated in the nomination process for our recent reps elections, whilst we still have vacancies and have lost some good reps due to retirement, leaving the company or choosing to stand down we have for the first time ever filled all 4 of the seats in the York hub. As we either have vacancies within constituencies or just enough reps for the roles we do not need to carry out an election as all positions have been filled unopposed. Your new reps are as follows by Hub/Region:

SCOTLAND

George Michie - H&S Rep

William Murray – IR Rep

Graham Whiteford – IR Rep

BIRMINGHAM/MIDLANDS & NORTH WALES

Azhar Mehmood – IR Rep

1 VACANCY MINIMUM

NORTH WEST

2 X VACANCIES MINIMUM

SWINDON/BRISTOL/SOUTH WALES & WESTERN

Enzo Carruba – Dual IR & H&S Rep

Gary Illing – H&S Rep

2 X VACANCIES

YORK/NORTH EAST/LNE

Dave Merrett – IR Rep

Gary Owens – H&S Rep

CRAWLEY/SOUTH EAST

Paul Gill-Dual IR & H&S Rep

Jim McKinney – IR Rep

Next Steps

I will be meeting with the reps to decide who the lead reps will be for each hub and also plan how we attempt to fill the vacancies. In the meantime if you see an area that you work in has a vacancy please consider standing to represent your colleagues, we need to ensure that we have a good mixture of representatives from different work disciplines and backgrounds. So it would be good if there were people from the Design side of the business, women and members from a mixture of ethnic backgrounds who were prepared to stand to fill the vacancies and represent their colleagues. If interested please contact your TSSA full time officer Alan Valentine on valentinea@tssa.org.uk to find out more. Remember, if not You then Who? If not Now then When?

Thanks

We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without your workplace reps so a big thanks needs to go out to those that have stood to represent you this time around and also those that have either moved on to pastures new or decided not to stand again.

Thank you to Andy Beech, Shamus Callaghan, Patricia Massop, Colin Savage, and Tarnia Wilson for all of their hard efforts and particularly to Patricia, Colin and Tarnia who have worked hard at Divisional and company level pushing hard to win concessions and improvements for members and who were crucial to us winning the extension of collective bargaining several years ago amongst other ‘wins’ for members during redundancy, pensions, Tupe and pay negotiations.
