Amey: Dispute Update

15 August 2011

Notice of Industrial Action issued to Amey in case progress is not made in ACAS talks on 17 August.

Notice of Industrial Action

Following the news that ACAS talks were to resume with Amey regarding Pay and Collective bargaining TSSA agreed to suspend industrial action until 19 August. Of course we want progress to be made at these talks as YOU, our members have been patient and have given so much to ensure that your employer treats you fairly, not just now but in the future.

Since our last circular the industrial action ballot that RMT union has been conducting closed with a resounding mandate for Strike action and action short of strike.

Therefore whilst we want to see a negotiated settlement and progress made on Wednesday both unions have issued notice of industrial action over this coming weekend. If talks fail to progress in a way that suits members of both TSSA and RMT then we will have no choice but to carry out action.

When is the action scheduled?

TSSA members who work for Amey Consulting are being asked to take part in discontinuous Strike Action and overtime ban:

Commencing from 2pm on Friday 19 August and ending 11am Monday 22 August

TSSA members who work for Amey Inter Urban are being asked to take part in discontinuous Overtime Ban:

Commencing from 2pm on Friday 19 August and ending 11am Monday 22 August

What now?

We will keep members updated as to the progress of talks. Until you hear otherwise we must plan for the worst and co-ordinate an effective well supported period of action in case Amey fail to improve their offer.

ALL TSSA members within AMEY must be prepared to stand together to ensure that they are treated fairly and reasonably both now and in the future
