Amey Industrial Action is a success

19 July 2011

TSSA members’ industrial action at Amey is being well supported with vibrant picket lines during the strike and a spirit of determination to make the overtime and on-call ban effective.

The action has started to bite:

Planned track possessions on the CEFA contract and Joint Venture upgrade projects have had to be cancelled. We estimate the financial cost to Amey to run into several hundred thousand pounds. The damage to Amey’s reputation may be even more serious.

We gain no satisfaction from delaying improvements to our railway network. It is extremely unfortunate that the short-sighted intransigence of the board of directors is costing Amey dear.

The email campaign to alert Ferrovial to the actions of their subsidiary is also gaining momentum. To take part visit
