Bombardier: Derby based members' meetings 15 September

26 August 2011

TSSA members based at the Bombardier Derby site are invited to attend one or more meetings to be held on Thursday 15 September 2011.

HR Director Marc-Andre Malboeuf has agreed to allow TSSA to hold these meetings of our members, which will discuss the continuing campaign to keep the pressure on the government to reverse its decision to give preferred bidder status to Siemens for the Thameslink contract and secure the future of UK train manufacture in Derby.

It is proposed to hold two meetings on Thursday 15 September, one at lunchtime, (12 noon) and another at 4.30pm. However, depending on feedback, this may be consolidated into one meeting.

Members are therefore asked to indicate their preferences on the preference form and return it as soon as possible by freepost to:
FREEPOST NW 2409, Transport Salaried Staffs Association, Walkden House, 10 Melton Street, London NW1 1YA

The preference form can be downloaded here:   Bombardier Derby meetings preference form

This is an opportunity for members to receive an update on the progress of the campaign so far and of future campaign activities and events. Ken Cook, TSSA Company Council Representative, Tony Barrable, Midlands Regional Organiser, and Steve Coe, National Organiser responsible for Bombardier will be in attendance. Information on the support for staff at risk of redundancy will also be available.

We need as many members as possible to attend to ensure TSSA gives its fullest support to the campaign to save jobs at the Derby site.

These are very uncertain times for Bombardier staff. Union membership is essential for the effective representation of staff in such difficult circumstances, and to maximise the impact of the campaign to save jobs. If you know of a colleague who is not in membership, please encourage them to join.
Membership application forms can be obtained from Ken Cook, or downloaded from this website.
