Bombardier Derby: TSSA Members Meeting - 18th August 2011

5 August 2011

Following the success of the recent Bombardier rally in Derby, all Bombardier TSSA members are invited to a meeting to be held at the Waterfall public house, Derby on 18th August 2011.

The recent Bombardier rally in Derby, which raised awareness of the government’s decision to give preferred bidder status to Siemens for the Thameslink contract, was a great success. Now all Bombardier TSSA members are invited to a meeting to be held at the Waterfall public house. The Waterfall was formerly the Derby Midlands Staff Association and is directly opposite the Derby railway station main entrance.

The meeting will take place on Thursday 18 August starting at 7:00pm in the room located past the bar area on the right. This is an excellent opportunity for members to receive an update on the progress of the campaign, and get involved in any future plans. We are hoping that the General Secretary, Gerry Doherty, will be available to address members at the meeting. Ken Cook, TSSA Company Council Representative and Tony Barrable, Regional Organiser for the Midlands will also be in attendance.

Information on the additional support for staff at risk of redundancy will be available from the TSSA Union Learner Organiser. We need as many members as possible to attend to ensure TSSA gives its fullest support to the campaign to save jobs at the Derby site.

These are very uncertain times for Bombardier staff. Union membership is essential for the effective representation of staff in such difficult circumstances, and to maximise the impact of the campaign to save jobs. If you know of a colleague not in membership, please encourage them to join. Membership application forms can be obtained from Ken Cook, or downloaded from
