BRB (Residuary) Ltd - Pay Claim 2011

1 June 2011

Your union met with management on 26th May 2011 to discuss this year's pay claim.

Your union met with management on 26th May 2011 to discuss this year's pay claim.

Again management informed us that any percentage pay increase was not possible due to the public sector pay freeze imposed on the Department for Transport and that the board would not be able to consider any request on this basis.

We were reminded that despite the above the annual bonus has still been paid to staff as in previous years. There followed discussions on other terms and conditions of employment such as annual leave and family friendly policies and we were unable to agree any cost neutral increases for our members. We were assured that legislative changes to Maternity and Paternity arrangements as well as the removal of the Default Retirement Age would be reflected in updated company policies.

Management further reiterated the intention of the government was to wind up the operations of BRB Residuary by 2013 and this was dependent on
government legislation being passed later this year.

Furthermore there is the possibility of a Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE) for some areas of the organisation to other civil service bodies as a result of this. We are assured that TSSA will be fully consulted over any potential changes in the future.
