BUS EIREANN MEETING AT LABOUR RELATIONS COMMISSION 9th OCTOBER

10 October 2012

A meeting was held between the Unions and Bus Eireann under the auspices of the LRC. Bus Eireann presented a detailed and financial costing breakdown of eight (8) proposals that were common to all grades

Mr Kevin Foley (LRC Official) requested that the Unions view and discuss whether the Unions could accept the company proposals or offer an alternative to cost savings and reductions.
After much discussion and deliberations, the Unions took the view that the proposals span across all grades, but an acceptance of any one of the proposals could in fact, jeopardised another group, for example, the acceptance of a cut in allowances by 33.3% may not have a big impact on the clerical grades, but would have a bigger impact on other grades.
It was proposed and accepted by all Unions, that the company would issue invitations to the respected Unions for grade only issues, if after these meetings there is a no agreement the LRC will step back in to help both patries come to a resolution.
The company also pointed out that under the new proposals that the voluntary severance scheme would only continue until December of this year and not as previously stated December 2013
TSSA will keep members updated on the outcome of all meetings with the company.
