21 June 2011

Following last week's meeting with Reps and the unions, An offer has been made by the Company (C2C) on the 2011 Pay claim.

Following last week’s meeting with Reps and the unions, An offer has been made by the Company (C2C) on the 2011 Pay claim.

The previous stance was a 2-year deal with non-favourable (strings) attached, which looked like:

  • Year 1 - 2% + dynamic allowances
  • Year 2 – 2.5% +dynamic allowances

This offer was made on 25th May 2011 and was rejected by members.

Your Reps were able to negotiate the following offer, which was made on 17th June.

A 2-year deal with no stings attached as follows:

  • Year 1 - 4.25% increase to basic pay back-dated to 1 July 2011 + dynamic allowances
  • Year 2 - 3% increase or RPI, whichever is the greater, July 2012 + dynamic allowances

Your Reps recommend accepting this offer, bearing in mind your negotiating team have reiterated our disappointment at the previous offer and the unacceptable length of time it has taken to negotiate.

Finally, your Reps have again done a fantastic job in negotiating a improved pay offer under very difficult circumstances, and I’m sure you will join me in thanking them for their efforts.

However, they can only continue to do this with your support and the support of the vast majority of staff in the business. That’s why it is important for you to discuss the contents of this circular with your colleagues, and encourage any non-members to join.
