CCTV Dispute TSSA members in ScotRail vote yes

TSSA members in ScotRail CCTV Department have voted strongly for strike action and industrial action short of a strike in a dispute over 22 job losses.

Notice of Result of Ballot - TSSA members vote YES for Strike Action

 

TSSA have balloted members in the CCTV Department for industrial action. This was a necessary step after ScotRail continually refused to take the paper with 22 job cuts off the table and engage in meaningful negotiation.

 

The ballot was carried out by the ERBS and in line with the new laws regarding Industrial Action as laid out in the Trade Union Act 2016.

 

We confirm that the result of the Ballot is: -

The number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot:  16

The number of votes cast in the ballot:  14

 

The number of votes cast in the ballot is at least 50% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

For the question “Are you prepared to take part in industrial action consisting of a strike?”

 

RESULT OF VOTING:

 

Number of ballot papers returned:

14

Number of papers found to be invalid:

0

Thus, total number of valid papers to be counted:

14

Votes cast in the ballot as a % of individuals who were entitled to vote

87.5%

 

Numbers voting       YES   9        (64.3% of valid vote)       

Numbers voting       NO     5        (35.7% of valid vote)

 

                     TOTAL                    14       (100% of valid vote)

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is 56.3% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.

 

 

 

 

For the question “Are you prepared to take part in Industrial Action short of a strike?”

 

Number of ballot papers returned:

14

Number of papers found to be invalid:

0

Thus, total number of valid papers to be counted:

14

Votes cast in the ballot as a % of individuals who were entitled to vote

87.5%

 

Numbers voting       YES   12       (85.7% of valid vote)       

Numbers voting       NO     2        (14.3% of valid vote)

 

                     TOTAL                    14       (100% of valid vote)

 

The number of individuals answering “Yes” to the question is 75.0% of the number of individuals who were entitled to vote in the ballot.
