CIE Pay claim - Update

TSSA met with the company 10/05/18 in the Workplace Relations Commission to try and attempt to resolve the pay issue.

It was disappointing that even with the assistance of the commission that no progress could be made in resolving the pay issue. It was our view that the company was not prepared to engage in genuine or meaningful discussions.

In the absence of any realistic negotiations taking place the issue will now be referred to the labour court.

We continue to maintain that after ten years of pay restraint it is only fair and reasonable that staff in CIE receive a decent pay award. It appears that CIE management does not recognise the financial pain you have endured the last ten years with the approach taken to pay talks.

We will keep members updated once we have a date for the labour court.
