Circular 7 Bargaining for Better Skills Seminar

21 January 2015

TSSA: Bargaining for better skills training seminar from 6-7 March in Birmingham! The two day event pulls together the various strands of Professional & Personal Development in the Workplace and Neurodiversity – areas in which TSSA is leading.

We want to celebrate, review and look to the future of this work in order to widen out the Better Skills strategy in 2015. Places are open to workplace reps, branch, equality and other activists as well as to ULRs and ND Champions.

Our Better Skills Vision in TSSA:

- “Better Rail & other Transport & Travel Companies will grow through building the loyalty & commitment of their staff through a process of assessing long-term skills needs and ensuring that their managers are fully supported to provide access, from day one of employment for all staff, to quality training & development: for current and future jobs; with proper development reviews; mentoring; recognition of skills gained; and structured career paths.”

This training seminar will offer a wide range of introductory & refresher workshops focused on practical action which ULRs, Industrial Reps, ND Champions, Branch activists etc can take to organise around Better Skills at their workplace. There will be sessions ranging from a taster on TSSA’s new training course on Development/ Performance Appraisals to Negotiating on Career Paths, Professional Registration and Apprentices and Neurodiversity Awareness etc. The full programme is set out on web page .
