Colas Rail states they have lost a significant amount of money in their current financial year of 2016 -17 of 2.5 million pounds in this division of the business. The proposal intends to locate staff closer to the up and coming work in the organisation of Waterloo for the Wessex Alliance, Birmingham for the Midland Metro Alliance and the Rugby Operations Centre for Rail Systems Services.

TSSA have stated they would oppose compulsory redundancy and would look for Colas Rail to offer voluntary redundancy but preferably would be expecting offers of redeployment into current Colas Rail vacancies for those employees affected by the proposal. There may also be opportunities for roles in the two alliances previously mentioned.

The TSSA will be asking where the individuals work has gone for those that have had proposed that their roles are removed.
