Cross Country: general election of TSSA reps 2019

6 March 2019

Do you want to make a difference in your workplace? Do you want to see change for the better? If the answer is yes, then have you considered getting involved in the representation of TSSA members in Cross Country?

Circular 27/19| 5 March 2019 circulation to: all Cross Country members direct, relevant branches, DCs, and SOGs, EC

A union can only be effective in representing its members and seeking meaningful change if it has committed and competent representatives. Don’t worry if you have never done anything like being a rep before - TSSA provides comprehensive training for all its reps.

Elections for TSSA reps in Cross Country were last held in 2016, for terms of office of 3 years. TSSA prides itself on being a democratic union, and that means it is time for new elections!

Nominations are now sought for TSSA reps as follows:

Staff representatives:

Managers receiving salaries above £29568:
Birmingham Cannon House (all staff except controllers and Driver Team Managers on former Central Trains contracts of employment): 1 seat
Birmingham Cannon House (controllers): 1 seat
Others outbased from Cannon House: 1 seat

Managers and clerical staff receiving salaries of £29568 or less: 2 seats
Driver Team Managers on former Central Trains contracts of employment: 1 seat

Joint Safety Committee reps: 2 seats
Learning reps: 2 seats

Please note that nominations must be made using the official TSSA nomination forms which are available on request from Steve Coe, TSSA Organising Director; you can contact him by email at coes@tssa.org.uk.

Nominations close at noon on Monday 1 April 2019. Completed forms can be scanned and sent by email to coes@tssa.org.uk, or sent in the post hard copy to TSSA Head Office (these must arrive no later than noon on 1 April 2019).

In the event that more nominations are received for a constituency than there are seats to be filled, a ballot of the relevant members will be held.

If you need further information about becoming a rep, or the election in general, please contact the TSSA Members’ Helpdesk by email at helpdesk@tssa.org.uk, or phone free on 0800 328 2673.
