Dublin Bus votes for strike action

10 August 2016

TSSA members at Dublin Bus have voted to take strike action in the row over the Labour Court's three year pay recommendation of 8.25%.

The majority was 57% for and 43% against, said union General Secretary Manuel Cortes.

He added:"We support the NBRU's call for a meeting once all the unions have completed their ballots so we can co-ordinate industrial action to secure an improved offer.

"Given the history of pay freezes at Dublin Bus, our members believe that only an improved offer is the best way of avoiding industrial action at this present time."

The union represents clerical and supervisory grades at the bus company. The vote for action short of a strike was 85% to 15%.
