Eurostar: 2017 Pay Review

28 April 2017

TSSA representatives met with the Company yesterday for the second time to discuss the 2017 pay review. A comprehensive claim for a significant improvement to salaries and other conditions was submitted in advance of the first meeting, and this was discussed together with claims from our sister unions. The Company gave a business update to the meeting and outlined its aspirations for this year's settlement.

Yesterday’s meeting discussed this further and made some progress. However, there is still some way to go before we have an offer which we could positively recommend to members. We took the opportunity to stress that RPI inflation had been increasing over recent months to its current level of 3.1%, and that predictions were for a continued steady increase for the foreseeable future. It is therefore important that any offer takes full consideration of this to ensure our member’s standard of living is not eroded. A further meeting will take place next Wednesday 3rd May to continue discussions, and we will of course update you of any developments.
