Eurostar Bank Holiday strike action

10 August 2016

The TSSA rail union has announced that its train manager members would strike over four days in August, 14-15 August and for two days over the Bank Holiday weekend, from 00.01 hours on Sunday 28 August until 23.59 on Monday 29 August.

It follows a vote for strike action in a long running row over work/life balance with English crews complaining of unsocial shift patterns.

Manuel Cortes, union general secretary, said there was still a "window of opportunity" to solve the dispute in talks with management on Friday.

"This is a long standing issue and there is still time to resolve it if common sense prevails on Friday. No one wants to see disruption at holiday times and we will be working for a peaceful solution."
