In total, 85 Voluntary redundancies have or are due to be agreed across the business in the following areas:

OBS – 17
TMI – 9
Stations – 24
ECC – 8
Times House 28

No compulsory Redundancies?

The company have reiterated their commitment to avoiding Compulsory Redundancies and advise that they have managed to achieve this so far by continuing to seek redeployment options for the small numbers of people that have been displaced.

Local Councils in each area are continuing to meet to discuss issues relating to work distribution and the impact of the staffing reductions in their area.

Going forward.

We are still to receive any detailed analysis of Health & Safety and Equality Impact Assessment from the company and continue to chase this. Our major concerns relating to the redistribution of work and resulting workload are being discussed at Local level in all areas.

The company have asserted that they are committed to maintaining ECC operations in Ashford and are seeking options to renew the Kent House lease or seek premises nearby.

In respect of TM’s the company have committed to retaining the work of UK crews as it is, with no intention for this to be redistributed to continental crews.

There will be a further meeting of the Company Council early in the New Year to review the situation going forward.

We appreciate that 2016 has been a difficult year for our members and reiterate that through this process we continue to support our members and collectively negotiate in your best interests.
