Eurostar TSSA Company Wide Bargaining News - February 2015

5 February 2015

2015 is going to be a busy year for TSSA in Eurostar. After closing out the matter of the Tri-annual Railway Pensions Valuation (a further reminder below of the way forward) we will begin to focus our attention on the forthcoming pay negotiations for the May 2015 Pay Anniversary date and we will also be electing new Local and Company Level Representative across Eurostar.

Please ensure you are aware of the information below regarding TSSA bargaining and negotiations with Eurostar over the next year.

Commencing in March Eurostar will be electing Local Staff Reps for the agreed period of three years across all constituencies as below:

The role of Local Rep is a very rewarding experience which will help develop skills you never thought you had, or capitalise on existing experience you may have in supporting people and ensuring the Eurostar staff have a strong voice in the workplace.

To become Staff Rep employees must be a member of a recognised trade union. The nomination process (with a potential election if more members stand compared to the number of seats available) is managed by the company.

We are asking TSSA members to consider standing in the elections especially for the following key roles and constituencies which may become vacant in the near future due to existing members potentially not seeking re-election:

Times House and all D-F Grades

Eurostar Contact Centre

Additionally the TSSA will be seeking nominations for a Union Learning Representative for Times House as well as holding our own election for our two Company Council Level Representatives for a period of three years.

Any members interested in nomination in the above TSSA elected should roles please contact us on childn@tssa.org.uk or call 07799 891045 to ask for a TSSA nomination form and further information.

All representative roles will receive full TSSA training and ongoing support from the union in carrying out the duties required.

Just a reminder on the back of the positive financial position of the Eurostar Section of the Railway Pension Scheme (RPS) the TSSA after consulting with Eurostar, agreed to the changes set out below to the RPS:

The scheme will to continue to apply a JCR (Joint Contribution Rate) of 26.4% (employee contribution rate of 10.56% and employer rate of 15.84%) between the period 1/7/15 and 30/6/27, reverting to a FSJCR of 23.9% from 1/7/27.
