Evacuation incident at Euston station

30 August 2017

Following last night's e-cigarettte explosion at London's Euston, TSSA will this morning (Wednesday) contact all our reps working at the mainline and Tube station for their review of the evacuation procedure.

Said TSSA Organising Director, Lorraine Ward: "We are grateful to TSSA Customer Service staff and British Transport Police Community Support Officers at Euston who, along with theif colleagues and the emergency services, did such great job in evacuating very panicked commuters last night. It is a testament to all our public and emergency service workers that no-one was hurt as people tried to flee the station.

"Our members are trained to deal with the sort of situations of great duress faced at Euston last night. But they were all tested under real fire last night and  it's right that their opinion should be fed into the review of procedure last night so we can know whether there are lessons for us to learn on how to better protect public and our members working at stations in the future."
