First Great Western-indicative industrial action ballot survey

6 July 2015

Further to my email which was sent to all members we are very keen to engage with you about the forthcoming RMT industrial action citing the threats of the introduction of the Super Express Trains in 2017, the Company's subsequent reactions and how this might affect you and your colleagues.

We believe that the best way of doing this is by conducting a quick online survey to gauge your strength of feeling in undertaking industrial action, which can be accessed by clicking on the following link:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RG3M9RG

Please note that the survey will remain open until the close of play on Monday 13 July 2015.

I am aware that due to the timescales involved there is not enough notice to be able to coordinate any potential industrial action with the RMT however there is a chance that this week’s action may be postponed or if it isn’t there may scope to support RMT colleagues in any subsequent action which may result. To be clear whilst I stated in my previous email communication that secondary action is unlawful if we win a successful industrial action ballot of our own you will be afforded full protection. Only those who are TSSA members will be able to take part in any industrial action ballot so it is vital that you encourage all of your colleagues to join today at the following link:

It is important that you ensure that your information on workplace, job title, grade and home address is accurate on the membership system. Please log into mytssa, www.tssa.org.uk/mytssa and check and update your details (if you are not registered to use mytssa yet you can do so at http://www.tssa.org.uk/en/members-area/registration.cfm )

If you have any questions on this or any other matter your reps and I remain on hand to advise you.
