Government Consultation on Apprentices

2 May 2013

The Government is holding a consultation process on the future shape of apprenticeships. You can take part in TSSA’s response or find out what is being asked of your employer, local colleges / training providers and other stakeholders, including trade unions.

You can see the consultation document here.

Richard Review of Apprentices

An independent but Government commissioned report on apprenticeships was delivered in November 2012 by Doug Richard, entrepreneur and founder of “School for Startups” [with a particular interest in small businesses]. The Government’s consultation paper focuses on many of the issues and proposals set out in the Richard Review.

What do we think?

All responses to the consultation document we have put on the TSSA website will be considered when compiling our formal submission. You should make the point to members and non members that only members will have the opportunity to refer to the experiences of their colleagues, friends & family whilst adding their personal views, and hence shaping the nature of any further lobbying and campaigning on apprenticeships, by TSSA. All responses need to be received back by May 13th 9am.
