Great Western Railway: Clean Sweep For TSSA

15 February 2018

Thank you to all TSSA stations members who recently had the opportunity to vote for their TSSA candidates in the recent Stations Divisional Council elections in the Ex Wessex Stations and Former FGW East Sales grades.

100% success

The only 3 contested seats have all been won by TSSA representatives In the Ex Wessex and Ex FGW East Sales Grades (Booking office, Helpdesk, Floor Walkers and Supervisors)

The Representatives re-elected for a 3 year term until 31 December 2020 are:

Tony Price – Gloucester

Andrew Hook – Truro

Alan Wilde – Paddington

They have all passed on their thanks to members of TSSA and RMT who voted for them and are keen to carry on the good work from the next Stations Divisional council meeting on Tuesday 20th February. It is clear from the election figures that there are too many non-members who didn’t get a chance to vote so colleagues should be encouraged to join TSSA at www.tssa.org.uk/join so that they have a strong voice through the reps and any future elections.

For those seats where the company has received absolutely no nominations (Former FGW TSSO and Former Thames trains Salaried) we really need TSSA members to stand. If you are interested in applying then you need to be a TSSA member, have 6 months’ service with GWR and be within the relevant grade and constituency to stand for the position. You can apply by filling in a nomination form and getting 6 TSSA members from the same constituency to nominate you and returning it as soon as possible. Nomination forms can be accessed online here or by visiting www.tssa.org.uk/gwr and accessing the online link to this communication. Further information will follow relating to the process for elections.
