GTR, Southern's parent company could be stripped of franchise

25 January 2017

Responding to a report in Rail Business Intelligence Magazine, TSSA's leader Manuel Cortes comments:

'I'm absolutely gobsmacked by failing Chris Grayling actually threatening to do his job as Secretary of State for Transport, rather than just threatening rail unions.

'Anyone who uses either Southern or Thameslink knows that Govia Thameslink Railways (GTR) shouldn't be allowed to run a bath, never mind train companies!

"I spoke at a meeting at Burgess Hill earlier this week where the overwhelming consensus was for the Government to sack GTR immediately. I hope this will happen and for once, failing Grayling won't chicken out, but I won't be holding my breath.'
