Great Western Railway: 2016 Pay

30 March 2016

2016 pay increase for GWR Staff confirmed!

In 2015 TSSA agreed a 2 year pay deal covering all grades working within Great Western Railways (GWR). The second year is based on February’s Retail Prices index (RPI) or 2% whichever is greater. The RPI figure was published on 22 March 2016 at 1.3%, so TSSA wrote to GWR that day to clarify your pay rise and pensions cap would be based on 2% for 2016. We have received confirmation from GWR that this is the case so your pay rise for 2016 represents a 0.7% above inflation deal. Pay will be uplifted in relation to the following dates:

1st April

All Drivers, Ex Wessex COs, Ex Link COs Ex Wessex Fleet,

Ticket Examiner West, Station Staff, Ex Link Depot Cleaners

6th April

Ex Link Fleet

1st Monday in May

Additional elements of the 2 year deal were a commitment to look at harmonising anniversary dates and reviewing current maternity and paternity arrangements. TSSA will continue to chase GWR to ensure that they honour those arrangements and will keep you posted when there is more information.
