Have your say on Amey Homeworker Allowance!

9 December 2019

Our reps recommend you vote to accept the company offer of £25 per month homeworker allowance following our year-long campaign. Details below

To view our circular click   Have your say on Amey Homeworker Allowance!

It has been one year since Amey TSSA members voted to share their stories and aspirations of homeworking in our national survey. Your mandate gave us the power to negotiate an allowance to compensate for the additional costs and disruption to home and family life for those who don’t already receive an allowance.

We have a final offer that your reps recommend you vote to ACCEPT through our online referendum. Amey have provided the email addresses of staff covered by the collective bargaining agreement who will receive an invitation to participate in an online survey. This referendum closes midnight 4 January 2020. If you haven’t received your invitation, please contact the members’ Helpdesk.

Our union has been involved in difficult negotiations; sharing our members’ evidence at national policy meetings, supporting collective grievances for those whose offices closed without compensation for homeworking and including the allowance in our claim for improvements to pay and conditions. After rejecting initial offers, we have a final offer of £25 per month for homeworkers. TSSA members will realise that this is more than the cost of union membership for a typical full-time employee in our industry. Thanks to your reps, this means that if the deal is accepted, homeworkers could effectively benefit from “free” membership subscriptions while benefitting from a net increase in pay. There has never been a better time to be a TSSA member so please encourage your colleagues to join online at today!

Only those eligible who are TSSA members at the close of the survey will determine whether we accept or reject the company’s offer.

If you have any questions about the offer or related matters, please contact your TSSA rep or the Members’ Helpdesk.

Please share this circular with your colleagues and encourage those who aren’t already members to join TSSA, the only recognised union for Amey Consulting staff.
