London Midland: Duty Train Crew Managers - Industrial action ballot

28 January 2014

TSSA have formally advised London Midland of our intention to ballot our Duty Train Crew Manager members over the Company’s failure to make an acceptable offer on your productivity claim.

The ballot will open on Wednesday 5th February 2014 and will close at 12 noon on Wednesday 12th February 2014. All Duty Train Crew Managers who are TSSA members will be eligible to vote. The ballot will be carried out by an independent source, The Electoral Reform Balloting Services, so all information is confidential. Please ensure TSSA has your up to date details including your work location and home address as soon as possible.

It is essential you vote in this ballot, but more importantly you vote YES to industrial action. We have given London Midland the opportunity to resolve this issue but they have failed to do so.

This is your chance to send a very clear message to the Company that you are fed up with not being properly recompensed for the additional work you do which results in additional productivity for the Company, and that you will not tolerate or accept this any longer!

It is now up to you to stand together to defend and protect your pay, and only by voting to take industrial action will you force the Company to listen and take you seriously. It is vital that you ALL stick together and if any member of London Midland approaches you to discuss this situation, you forward them to your reps.

If you require any further information on the contents of this circular please contact the local DTCM TSSA reps dealing with this matter or your negotiating team, Mark John or Tracy Booth in the first instance. Please also discuss the contents of this circular with your colleagues, and encourage any non-members to join. The more members we have, the stronger our negotiating position becomes. Membership application forms can be obtained from your TSSA reps. Alternatively, call the membership hotline on 020 7529 8018 or join on-line at
