London Midland Managers vote 'Yes' to industrial action.

6 December 2011

TSSA Driver and Conductor Managers have voted overwhelmingly for industrial action over the Company's failure to make them an acceptable pay offer.

This follows months of negotiations to try to reach a settlement which ended with the Company claiming they could not afford to award their managers a decent pay increase, but they could and did make a substantial 3-year pay award for the staff our manager members directly manage.

Industrial action, including  strike action, will commence on  Friday 9th December until Monday 12th and every weekend until further notice. This could have an adverse affect for train travel leading up to and over the Christmas period.

We remain open to further negotiations with London Midland but we have stated that in order to avoid any industrial action they must make an improved offer.

“We want pay equality for our manager members and a stop to them being treated as second class citizens by London Midland,”  said Tracy Booth, the union’s Midlands organiser.
