London Underground Dispute - Ballot Results

Following the close of our unions industrial action ballot at 12 noon today (30 June), TSSA members in LU have overwhelmingly voted to support strike action and industrial action short of a strike.

The outcome of the ballot speaks for itself indicating the level of anger over LU’s failure to meaningfully negotiate with the recognised trade unions over Pay, Terms and Conditions, Night Tube and Fit for the Future Stations.

In accordance with the Notice of Result of Ballot under Section 231A of the Trades Union & Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, it is confirmed that the result of the Ballot is: -

Number of ballot papers returned: 716

Number of papers found to be invalid: 0

Total number of valid papers to be counted 716

Numbers voting YES 548 (76.5%)

Numbers voting NO 168 (23.5%)

Question: Are you prepared to take part in industrial action consisting of action short of a strike?

Result of voting

Number of ballot papers returned: 716

Number of papers found to be invalid: 12

Total number of valid papers to be counted 704

Numbers voting YES 622 (88.4%)

Numbers voting NO 82 (11.6%)

What happens next?

LU have been notified of the ballot result and following discussions held with TSSA’s functional council representatives, LU will be notified of dates for planned industrial action.

Talks are being held under the auspices of ACAS today and are likely to continue for the remainder of the week. Following the outcome of those discussions TSSA members will be provided with further updates.
