National Rail Passenger Survey reveal widespread unhappiness from passengers

30 January 2018

Responding to news of high levels on dissatisfaction on performance and value for money for their train journeys. TSSA transport union leader Manuel Cortes said:

“It’s not good enough that our railways are run in the interests of Tory privatisation ideology – for profit – not in the interests of passengers.

“Across the piece, Transport Minister Chris Grayling has made decisions which hamper investment and block development that would improve our track and infrastructure. Like scrapping electrification plans in the summer which were already taking place!

“Fares are rising, and we’re not seeing the benefit – not passengers, not rail staff and not the taxpayer. All evidence is pointing towards the need to bring franchises back in house and run the railway in the interests of passengers not fat cat profiteers.”
