Network Rail - General Grades and Controllers Pay

23 May 2019

TSSA has won an RPI inflation increase for members in General Grades and Controllers at Network Rail (NR).

Following pay talks at ACAS last month NR made a revised pay offer of 3.2 per cent to basic rates of pay - effective from January 1st 2019 - including a minimum uplift of £555 (pro rata for part time working).

TSSA has consulted with our National and Area Reps who’ve overwhelmingly recommended acceptance. The union has now written to Network Rail to formally accept the pay offer.

TSSA General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, said: “I want to thank all our TSSA National Reps who’ve worked hard to achieve what is a good deal for our members.

“What we have secured gives at least retail price index (RPI) inflation increases for 2019 and 2020 and secures no compulsory redundancies until the end of 2020.

“This has been achieved despite Transport Secretary, Chris Failing Grayling, suggesting pay increases for workers should be kept to the lower consumer price index (CPI), rather than (RPI).”
