TSSA has arranged four one-day courses for staff working in rail, rail infrastructure, transport and travel industries who wish to improve their skills. These courses are designed to encourage people to become more active in their unions, communities and workplaces and could be of interest to anyone wishing to further their career.

Liz Warren-Corney, TSSA's Learning Organiser for Scotland, said "I'm particularly thrilled to be announcing our Women Into Leadership and Management course. This is exclusively for women and aimed at challenging the organisational and instutional barriers women face in their careers. It's also a great option for women who'd like to be more active in their union but lack the confidence to start."  The one-day course will run twice, on Wednesday 26th February and on Wednesday 12th March. 10am - 6pm in TSSA's Glasgow offices to give as many members as possible the chance to take part. (you only need to attend once as the two days will cover the same material)

TSSA Scotland is also offering a number of other courses which could be useful to you in your career or if you want to improve your skills as a trade unionist - or even if you just want to be more active in your local community.

The Public Speaking and Presentation Skills course will train you in the basics of public speaking, including professional techniques for holding a crowd's attention, vocal techniques and speech preparation. The course will run once on Monday 17th February 10 -6 in TSSA's Glasgow Office.

Maybe you're wanting to know how much Twitter, Facebook and other social media can do for your branch, your community group or even your employer? Communicating Through Social Media will help you make the most of Social Media to run campaigns and organise groups you care about. The one-day course will run twice in central Glasgow as we anticipate it being a popular one. Friday 21st February and Friday 7th March. (you only need to attend once as the two days will cover the same material).

Neurodiversity is an umbrella term covering Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, Dyspraxia, Attention Deficit Disorders (ADD / ADHD), Autism and Asperger's and is one of TSSA's key organising priorities. If you want to know more about Neurodiversityand to find out about TSSA's strategy to build more neurodiverse friendly workplaces this is the course for you!
