Night Tube attacks on staff need to be investigated

6 November 2017

Responding to news this evening (Monday 6th) that a Night Tube driver was attacked and had paint sprayed on him, TSSA joins Aslef's call for an urgent safety review.

TSSA staff covering Night Tube shifts are similarly concerned for their safety and a lack of British Transport Police resources.

Manuel Cortes, leader of TSSA said:
'We all want the Night Tube to be a success and make London a successful city, but more needs to be done to protect staff and ensure that the money made by London's night-time economy also benefits the workers who help passengers get around London and who protect them outside stations.

'If gangs are waiting for Night Tube staff as they leave their shifts, we need some assurances from Transport for London (TfL) that they can get taxis home and not be left exposed.'
