No to Network Rail's Project Condor

29 June 2018

TSSA has demanded that Network Rail come clean over their plans to make redundancies within the Commercial Estates team prior to the proposed transfer to a new private company.

Rumours of plans to unlawfully slash jobs and evade TUPE Regulations came to light earlier this week. TSSA Representatives immediately applied pressure on Network Rail to reveal the truth and our lawyers are investigating potential legal action against the Company.

TSSA General Secretary, Manuel Cortes, said

"The sale of the railway arches to property developers makes no sense. So-called Project Condor means the loss of over £70 million per year in revenue that could be used to fund a better railway for passengers."

"I am extremely proud of our TSSA Reps who have taken Network Rail to task. Our Union will fight to prevent the sell-off and to defend the employment rights of our members. We will do whatever it takes to do this and we can't rule out strikes to ensure our members aren't taken for a ride."
