On-call allowances Role Clarity Bands 3 & 4 and equivalent Route Businesses Collective Agreement

A refendum is being undertaken to vote on the newly proposed On-call arrangements. Please see attached documents.The company has listened to feedback from Senior Managers, employees and our members, all of whom have helped to shape this proposal. The major concerns were regarding work life balance and payment.
The offer addresses the following
• Reduction in the working week
• Maximum of 1in 4 weeks on call roster
• Utilisation of existing shift working roles to provide operational on call, such as Incident Officers and Route Control Managers, subject to training and achievement of competencies
• Standardised payments- 2 tier structure replaced by one payment structure
• Higher payments to employees at a maximum payment of 6% for working 1 in 4 weeks on call
• Standardised roles to perform technical on call duties

The company are currently developing a Training plan for implementation and have committed to a post implementation review.
The proposal represents an improvement from the current arrangements and provides a clearer framework for line managers and employees to work within.
The company have asserted that if the proposal is accepted they would be willing to re-instate the annual bonus.
