Red triangles on dodgy timetables is shutting the door after the horse has bolted says TSSA

11 May 2018

On hearing the news that Transport Focus are planning a special meeting to discuss inaccurate rail timetables, TSSA's general secretary Manuel Cortes commented:

"It ain't April Fools Day is it? Requiring train operating companies to carry red triangles on their timetables to inducate that it could be inaccurate is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard! This is shutting the door after the horse has well and truly bolted. Passengers already know through bitter experience that woeful services are unlikely to run on time, because it's been happening for years!

"We need much more serious changes to our failing privatised rail system which takes money from taxpayers and fare payers and puts it straight into the pockets of privateers. To properly overhaul our railways the only solution to short staffing, short termist decision-making, eye watering fares and adequate investment in rolling stock - things that would really improve the passenger experience - is to bring our fragment privatised system back into public ownership!"
